In order to reduce the GHG emissions from the agriculture sector, the New Zealand government decided to include the sector into its emissions trading scheme from 2015. New Zealand is the only country to have a country-level emissions trading scheme that includes the agriculture sector. This paper aims to summarize the emissions trading scheme in New Zealand’s agriculture sector.
